Bee Venom: Nature's Botox, harvested harm-free
Share
Bee venom has become one of skincare’s most fascinating natural ingredients, often praised for its ability to support collagen production, smooth fine lines, and promote firmer, healthier-looking skin. But for those who care about the wellbeing of bees and sustainability, the first question is always the same: How is bee venom collected—and is it safe for the bees?
At New Pacific Skincare, we take pride in sourcing bee venom directly from a farm in New Zealand’s South Island, where we prioritize both the health of our bees and the purity of our ingredients. Our bee venom harvesting process is entirely harm-free, ensuring the bees remain unharmed and able to continue their essential work pollinating the native flora.
How Does Harm-Free Bee Venom Collection Work?
Bee venom is collected using a method designed to gently stimulate the bees without causing them injury. A glass collection sheet is placed near the hive, equipped with a light, low-voltage current. This small pulse encourages the bees to release a tiny amount of venom onto the glass surface, much like they would during a natural defense response. Importantly, the bees do not lose their stingers during this process, which means they can return safely to the hive and continue their normal routines.
Once the venom dries on the glass sheet, it’s carefully collected and purified. Because each bee only deposits an incredibly small amount, the process is done slowly and thoughtfully, ensuring the health of the hive is never compromised. Our beekeepers are highly trained and work in harmony with the bees to maintain a thriving, healthy colony.
Why Is Bee Venom So Special?
Bee venom is a natural compound made up of peptides and enzymes that provide unique benefits when applied to the skin. In skincare, bee venom works by gently stimulating the skin’s natural repair processes, encouraging collagen and elastin production. This helps to smooth fine lines, improve firmness, and promote a plumper, more youthful-looking complexion.
It’s often referred to as “nature’s Botox,” but unlike injections, bee venom offers a gentle, natural way to support the skin’s structure and health over time. Combined with other nourishing ingredients like Manuka honey, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins, bee venom helps create powerful formulations that rejuvenate and restore the skin without harsh chemicals.
